West Yellowstone - Day 5 - 7am - Coffee Break

Traveling through 7 states in less than a week seemed like a grueling trip, however, the scenery and XM made the trip very pleasant, as part of my strategy was to PACE myself and enjoy the drive.

The TT behaved fairly well, as going into Salt Lake my anti-lock was displayed on the monitor, and once we started the drive - Day 2, my chip started acting up and went limp several times (so with no power while going 70 mph, I had to turn engine off and restart........but of course I was in 4th gear so the while I lost some speed, I was able to keep up. Surprisingly, once we got into Yellowstone and even while coming home, there were no more chip/limp issues.

TT West RoadTrip 2008 - TT's & Bears at Yellowstone

Day 4 of the TT West 2008 roadtrip was great as we (most of us) rested the TT's and had a professional tour guide show us around Yellowstone. The Bull and his 30 elk were great but the moment which made the trip memorable was spotting a black bear.

The Moose at the Grand Teton - Jackson, Wyoming

TT West RoadTrip 2008 - Brief Snapshot of Day 4 & 5

Days 4 and 5 are recapped. Day 4 was spent in Yellowstone Park and in addition to seeing a spectacular shot of a buck sporting about 30 elk, we were treated to a great dinner at Bar Ranch. The meal was great but the venue was absolutely tremendous.

Needing to pull in 1200 miles in 2 days to keep my scheduled timeline of being back in Los Angeles by 4pm Saturday, I left Yellowstone at the crack of dawn 6:45am, and while somewhat nervous about driving through the forest before the sun came out due to the many wild animals that are on the roadside, I was surprised at the number of people I saw who apparently camped out to try and catch the "perfect shot" in the early dew. I finally arrived in Salt Lake at around 1pm and rather than do a sit down lunch and break, I decided to grab some tacos on the curb (see photo). What a meal for $5. Anyway, this allowed me to take a break and nail another 350 miles to Saint George, as my timeline was to arrive at 6pm. Even though I ran into construction traffic, I did very good time and arrived by 5:40pm. After some well deserved rest my plan is to leave here by 10am tomorrow.

Once, all my photos are uploaded I will post a more thorough recap.

Cheers!!!!

TTWest 2008 - Day 1

Day 1 in Salt Lake City, Utah - Our hotel (The Peery) is in the heart of downtown and recently restored to perfection. Great seeing old friends as well as meeting newbies (you can see the excitement in their eyes). The opening Dinner, hosted by Peter, Gina and AOA was outstanding as in addition to some great food, we were treated to a presentation by AOA as they introduced the new TTs. More good news is in addition to the 2 A5's they brought for us to drive, they also announced we will have 2 TT's so tomorrow as we head to Jackson, Wyoming and the rest of the week - we all are gearing up to what will be a great week!!!!

This will be our 7th event, as TT'rs from across the USA will convene for this years event, held in Salt Lake City, Utah, then to Jackson, Wyoming, then to Yellowstone.

Many ask - what is a TT event?? Very simply, it's a group of people who get together (at least annually) to drive their TT's in a group

The TT was built my Audi and first rolled out in 1999, with larger shipment hitting the USA in 2000.
